According to Sensor Tower, the TikTok app was downloaded approximately 66 million times in the past month, up 9.5% from October 2019. The most popular application was Douyin (a version of the service for the Chinese market). The residents of the Celestial Empire account for 12% of the total number of downloads of the TikTok client, and another 10% of downloads were provided by users from Brazil.

The second most popular non-gaming application in October was the WhatsApp messenger, which is owned by Facebook. Worldwide, the messenger’s mobile client has been downloaded more than 57 million times. About 30% of total WhatsApp downloads come from India, and another 10% from Nigeria. Sensor Tower’s five most popular mobile apps in October include Facebook and Instagram clients, as well as the popular video conferencing service Zoom.

It is worth noting that the statistics provided by Sensor Tower are based on data on downloading applications from the official digital content stores App Store and Play Store. When generating reports, data on downloads of Apple applications and pre-installed Android applications are not taken into account. Only unique downloads are taken into account.
