YouTube TV app will allow you to send links to products from ads to your smartphone
Popular video service YouTube continues to consider different approaches to advertising on the platform. One option is to add a new element to the YouTube TV app to send product links from TV ads to their smartphones. It is supposed that this tool will simplify the purchase of goods on the platform.
We are talking about the appearance of an additional button that users will see during the playback of ads in the YouTube app for TV. Next to the “Skip ads” button, an item “Send to phone” will be displayed, clicking on which will send a link to the product from the advertisement to your smartphone (most likely, with the same Google account).
Thanks to this, a user interested in buying a particular product will easily proceed to study its description and subsequent purchase. The new format will also allow advertisers to track the number of users interacting with their products and making purchases directly through the Google Ads ad service.
YouTube says the new feature is part of a broader effort to make interactive TV ads ” more useful to viewers and more engaging to brands .” As for the previously mentioned function of sending advertising links from TV to smartphone is currently in the testing phase and will be distributed more widely later this year.
